Jason Martin grew up in Calvert County, Maryland but he loves living and working on Capitol Hill. Jason is truly passionate about the people, homes, and businesses that make up the community of Capitol Hill. After graduating, in 2000 from the University of South Carolina with a degree in Journalism and Mass Communication, Jason worked as a sports reporter in Augusta, GA and Wilmington,NC. His passion for sports didn’t stop when he moved to DC in 2003 and began his career in real estate. With his background in sales, communications, journalism, and business development, Jason quickly become one of the top agents on Capitol Hill. While Jason specializes in Capitol Hill, he is experienced with the real estate market throughout DC and Maryland. In 2005, Jason joined with other enthusiastic Capitol Hill agents to form a new brokerage in Washington, DC. Keller Williams Capital Properties brings the next generation of brokerage and agent to DC. Jason continues to be an owner and active partner in KWCP. He brings both his professional as well as his personal experience in Real Estate to work for his clients. Volunteering led to full time positions as Special Events Director for the American Heart Association and Development Associate at The Washington Tennis and Education Foundation. After some personal life changes, she decided to put her marketing and communication expertise into Real Estate. Sometimes there are defects in a house that the homeowners no longer notice, such as small leaks in the roof or a basement that only gets damp when it rains. When the house is on the market, they don't have a real sense of urgency about having such defects repaired. The real estate agent feels quite differently, however.
When buyers are deciding which houses deserve serious consideration, any kind of water problem may appear to be much more detrimental than it really is. The sellers may regard a damp basement as simply a sign that it's time to clean the gutters or check the soil buildup around the house or a leaking roof as a call for new flashing. But to someone who has never owned a home, these defects can be taken as signs that the house may not fulfill their primary need for shelter from "the elements." Renters may be perfectly willing to live in a home with minor water problems, but buyers are likely to pass up the same house if they think it won't keep them perfectly dry.
